About
Blackburn is a passion project of mine that started two years ago when I drew an image of a punky drow girl smoking a cigarette. I couldn’t get the image out of my mind and a few short days later I drew another picture, a demon girl blowing bubble gum looking at a grotesque statue of her ancestor. This was how Blackburn began. I tossed the idea around in my head for some time before finally deciding, I’d tell the story of these girls and their world. Sprig and Leo were soon to follow and well, here we are!
My name is Cayla Sander, but you may know as Kiranox, depending on where you know me from. I’ve been an artist my entire life and comics have always been a passion and I’m glad I’m finally pursuing that in a somewhat formal way.
I live in Vancouver Canada and when I’m not drawing, I’m working on a tabletop podcast with some friends (Dungeon Master’s Test Kitchen), cosplaying, playing video games, writing or playing with my cat, Thor.
